We are at a unique time in Tennessee history. Exorbitant growth has occurred but where is this growth primarily? In Nashville (Davidson County). It’s not surprising because Nashville is one of the large cities across the United States, so it’s understandable that there would be more growth there.
By growth, we are talking about technology growth. We are a digital marketing agency, so technology is sort of our thing. We are also purveyors of open-source technology — something that Nashville seems to flat out ignore. About 75% of businesses use .NET (Microsoft) technologies, with 25% of businesses primarily using open source (PHP, Python, etc) technologies.
Other cities across America that once used Microsoft technologies have made the shift toward open-source. While that won’t be for a few years, Bellerose Web Media LLC would be among the “pioneers” that help toward the open-source shift. Or at least we’d hope to.
Nashville also seems to set it’s technical and business centers in Brentwood, Franklin, and Cool Springs primarily, while Sumner County, which is about 16 miles northeast as opposed to the 20 miles south, gets far less in regard to technology businesses. We are all part of the Greater Nashville Area. Let’s start acting like it!
